We received some exciting news today: the Lanark Heritage Preservation Society is now an incorporated non-profit entity! This is an important step in our efforts to preserve the Glenayr Mill.
It’s also an important piece of our current plan, part of the larger vision outlined by community members at our initial meeting in October of 2021.
While we continue to work away at saving and repurposing the Mill, we’re now also looking at other ideas to help promote and celebrate the history and heritage of our village and surrounding area. The steering committee Board is currently working with a few other groups on a proposal to be submitted to the My Mainstreet initiative. The deadline is the end of January, so we’re scrambling fast – stay tuned for more details!
